The main purpose of the Zero Waste project is to use resources efficiently, prevent or minimize waste generation as much as possible, prevent waste, collect waste separately according to their sources and recycle these wastes into energy sources.
In order to leave a cleaner future for future generations, where resources are not wasted, several individual-based measures have become widespread around the world in recent years.
Aim
-Increase in productivity,
-Reduction of production costs thanks to recycling,
-Preventing the problem of depletion of natural resources,
-Creating environmental protection awareness,
-Preventing air pollution to a certain level

BREAD-FOOD WASTE AND SAVING
The places where the most food waste is seen are schools, dormitories and workplaces, hotels, restaurants and hospitals. The following suggestions can be made to minimize bread and food waste. Production should be planned according to demand Production in small weights and bread should be sliced Bread should be given as sliced in mass food consumption places. In self-service counters, the bread should be placed after the meal, not at the beginning. Bread flour etc. of unsold and waiting breads at home. to be converted into product Food should not be taken more than necessary. Bread should be cut according to need, fruits and vegetables should be peeled according to need. Food should be stored in suitable conditions in transportation and sales places.
WATER WASTE AND SAVINGS
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), in its report published on World Water Day, drew attention to the effects on children of the rapid depletion of safe water resources due to climate change, increasing droughts and conflicts in many parts of the world. According to the report, 36 countries in the world are experiencing "extremely serious water shortages", as the demand for water increases every year, but safe water resources decrease. More than 800 children under the age of 5 die from diarrhea every day in the world because they do not have access to clean water and hygiene. Although ¾ of the world is covered with water, only 3% is potable water, and it is quickly consumed and polluted, thus inviting drought in our world. Although our country is surrounded by seas on three sides and has lush rivers and lakes, it is among the poor countries in terms of usable water amount.
The Wildlife Fund says that we will come to a list of countries suffering from water shortages in the coming years. Due to industrialization, population growth, pollution and irresponsible consumption of water, we need more water than ever before, but our water resources are rapidly decreasing. Water, which means life, is more valuable than all kinds of minerals and oil, so it should not be wasted. Depletion of wasted water means leaving cracked agricultural lands and a treeless legacy to future generations. In addition, oil wars are becoming to be replaced by water wars. The following suggestions can be made to minimize water waste:
Faucets and siphons must not leak water If the siphon and faucets are leaking water, they should be repaired. (The reflection on the annual invoice exceeds 1000 TL) The siphon should not be drawn in vain, its small part should be pressed. The volume can be reduced by placing a full water bottle inside the reservoirs. Spilled water can be kept in a bucket for siphoning While washing fruits and vegetables, they can be washed in the basin. You can clean the mat with the water you wash vegetables and fruits. While the shower-bath water is heating, it should not be wasted, fill the bucket with cold water. You can then use this water for siphoning and watering flowers. Shower rather than bath Washing machines and dishwashers should not be run before they are fully loaded and short programs should be preferred. Do not let the dishes become hard by drying. You can wipe off the excess oil with used napkins. Do not leave the faucet on while shaving or brushing teeth. Natural soap should be used for cleaning so that it does not harm the skin and nature. Do not use excessive disinfectant so that the rinsing water is not used too much, it does not harm the skin-nature The car should not be washed with a hose, it should be wiped with a sponge. The garden should not be watered with a hose, large jets should be used with little water. Instead of grass, which requires a lot of water, another plant should be planted in the garden. If the lawn is to be watered, night times should be preferred. Bleach should be used as little as possible, its waste should not be poured into the soil and water resources. You can store and use rainwater.
ENERGY WASTE AND SAVINGS
Energy is the power to do work in every sense. Unnecessary expenditure of energy that sustains life is called energy wastage. Electricity comes first. The main energy sources we use in our daily life are; electricity, water, natural gas and other petroleum derivatives. The 2nd week of January is celebrated as "Energy Saving Week" in order to spread awareness about the rational, economical and efficient use of these energy resources. Energy saving has become very important for economic and strategic reasons. 40% of the total energy consumed in EU countries is consumed in buildings, but about half of this is wasted through the heat passing through the walls.
